• Prepare for your PestSure treatment

  • LET'S PREPARE FOR YOUR PESTSURE TREATMENT

Thank you for booking your PestSure Flea and Tick Treatment.  Fleas and Ticks are an awful pest and we want to ensure that the first treatment is as effective as possible.  There is a few things we would like you to do to prepare and complete prior to the booking that will ensure the greatest result for you, your pets and your home. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact via our live chat function below or leave a message if we are offline.

  • PREPARE STEP 1: MOWING

If your grass hasn't been mowed in the past 14 days it is a good idea to mow prior to the treatment.  Because we treat grass areas and where the animals you have frequent if you mow straight after you may reduce the efficacy of the treatment.  If you have a catcher, use it as it will make the next step easier!

  • PREPARE STEP 2: GRASS CLIPPINGS

Because eggs and even live fleas and ticks will be living in your grass, disposing of your pre-treatment mowing clippings is extremely important.  If you move them or pile them up normally, this could create harbourages that our treatment will not be able to access.  Simply bag up the clippings, tie it up and dispose in your wheelie bin or straight to the dump.

  • PREPARE STEP 3: WATER

It is a great idea once you have mowed to assist the treatment to bond with the soil and be more efficient to water prior to the treatment.  We also encourage you not to water for at least 5 days after the treatment so watering prior will ensure your lawn remains healthy! Please ensure you are following any water restriction rules as set out by the Townsville City Council.  You can check the current water restrictions here.  It is important to wet dry areas especially anywhere where the pet frequents such as holes or fence lines.

  • PREPARE STEP 4: VACUUM INSIDE

If your animals frequent inside your home, similar to external eggs will be found in carpet and in cracks and crevices.  A thorough vacuum will remove these eggs cutting short the next batch of pests.

IMPORTANT:  Similar to the grass clippings, it is important to dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the vacuum when you are done. Bag up the bag or contents and place in your wheelie bin.

  • PREPARE STEP 5: PICK UP BOWLS AND TOYS

Because we treat both inside and outside, pick up any dog food or water bowls and place up in a high spot. (We will do this if you have not already completed this task).  Because we also treat inside the home, pick up any kids or pets toys off the floor.  Although the treatment has low toxicity to humans, it is always better to remove anything from the floor that is not normally there.  Again, our professional technician will advise you on the day.
